The point of this blog

I am mommy, here me roar!

The purpose of this blog is to archive all and any blogs that I posted to a previous site. So really, it is for my own purposes, but feel free to read if you like. I have created another one that talks about my life after the babies..........

Enjoy, if you read.

These babies are never coming out of me!

Seriously.

I hate to be a complainer, truly I do. But, I am now approaching week 37--which is full term for single babies and our babies DO NOT WANT TO COME OUT! Ugh. We went to the doctor again today and although he is seeing me again on Thursday, he felt that my BP was okay enough to hold off trying for an induction until NEXT Wednesday.

We are just going to be honest with him on Thursday and let him know that I am almost truly miserable at this point. And, obviously, if any of my symptoms worsen he will hear about that too.

He lifted my bedrest from the weekend and told me I could resume somewhat normal activity. I took that to mean walking all over 12 Oaks Mall (yes, Allison, I hit Sephora!), going to Sam's Club, and then stopping for a spicy dinner. Trust me, we have all "home remedies" for inductions covered!

So, that is the update.......or lack of update depending on your point of view.
Outtie.

It could only happen to us......

OH MY GOD.
I wasn't going to post about this, but Jason and I decided this was really too funny a story NOT to share. So, here it goes.

I now have pre-eclampsia (look it up if you don't know because I don't have time to explain )......this was diagnosed on Thursday due to a rise in my blood pressure, protein in my urine, a headache that came out of no where (that lasted for days), in addition to the wonderful swelling that has encompassed my legs from the knees down.

My doctor was considering it mild, but did not want it to progress. So, he started an induction yesterday morning--everyone WOULD have gotten their phone calls when the babies were born. We knew it was going to take all day and just kept immediate family members on alert.
When I got there they checked me and I was dilated to a 2 and 60% effaced.......which I had done on my own. To make a very long story short, they pumped me full of pitocin and by the end of the day I was smiling and not feeling contractions and again........dilated to a 2 and still only 60% effaced. Hmmmm.

Well, my doctor did not want to continue an induction that could have lasted for days and he did not feel it was the appropriate time for a c-section. So, basically I was sent home with strict bedrest orders--at 36 weeks! Ignore the previous post stating I can do whatever I want! I see him on Monday and we will decide the next course of action. Basically, he is hoping that my own body puts me into labor by then or near after.

Jason and I have decided to make this a laughable situation.........I mean really--who gets induced and it doesn't work?!?!? I didn't even know that was a possibility!!! Jason said they don't want to come out because of my stubborn streak.......who knows.....I just know that this is flipping UNBELIEVABLE.

So, I guess we are still on the waiting game. All bets are off now......these kids can pick their own darn day when they are going to get here. I'm just going to relax and enjoy the rest of the ride!

Lifetime TV...........here I come today

A baby is born....................

Just not ours!

My cousin gave birth on Sunday to a beautiful little girl she named Lilianna. Very pretty name, I think.

I thought I would be going into labor tomorrow.....and the holding of a new baby would push my hormones into gear or something and these two would like to grace the world with their presence.

Ummm...........no. At least not based on information I received today.

We had a doctor's appt. today and he checked for dilation--which by the way is spelled correctly! I am a ZERO. For those of you clueless about the birth process (which I doubt anyone really is, even guys), I need to be at a TEN to get these little ones out. So, unless nature really hurries up, my date of Feb. 22nd will come and go.

He was otherwise pleased with my progress. It is great for women to get this far with a multiple pregnancy....and every day they stay in there they get stronger and bigger. But even he said if I had not progressed more by next week, then we would be scheduling an induction--which is SO not the way I wanted to do this.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they have found my womb a great place to live, but now is the time for them to come out! 36 weeks is considered full term for twins--and next week they will be considered full term for singletons. Sigh. I am usually pretty darn "in tune" with my body, so this has thrown me for quite a loop.

So, I am not restricted from anything anymore. Mopping, vacuuming, heavy cleaning, hell--even bowling--BRING IT ON! Today I ate Indian food (yum!) for lunch, but now I am suffering the heartburn of it.

Alrighty, off to run a marathon............

Yes, I am kidding. Come on people.......cross your fingers for me that I go into labor SOON!

Peculiar

I don't think I have ever blogged this much in my entire life! I just like giving humorous updates.........

So, the sleeping thing hasn't been great. I get up ever couple hours, can't sleep, play solitaire, try to sleep.....you get the picture.

But for some reason last night.......at 4:00 am no less, I decided to reorganize pretty much everything in my kitchen--from the drawers to the pantry. I finished at 7:00 and went back to bed.

Jason said I was "nesting". He is freaking out now more than ever because he is playing poker tonight and is petrified I am going to go into labor without him here. I still believe it could be a bit longer so I keep telling him to go. Anyhow, he is only going to be in Livonia in case anything happened anyway. Right now he ran to the store to get some organizational bins so I can continue my madness.

So I thought I would share that. When I woke up again at 9:00 I did find it slightly amusing what I had done........I mean really, who cleans out their pantry that early in the morning?

Now I am going to mop!
